FMG Evaluation & Treatment
FMG functional restoration treatment approaches offer individual, goal-oriented, physical, psychological, and medical components. Services include a structured exercise program, individual and group psychological and educational sessions, participation in functional/work activity training, learning non-pharmacological pain management tools, medication detoxification/optimization, wellness classes, and education on health topics. Patients decrease their medication needs and become more functional
while focusing on returning to regular life activities including work. Weekly Team Conferences assess motivation, progress, and goal achievement to determine continued participation in the program.
Multidisciplinary Evaluation (MDE)
FMG’s cost-effective treatment starts with an in-depth multidisciplinary evaluation by a physician, psychologist, and physical therapist. Our goal is to identify the correct diagnosis and recommend an appropriate individualized, cost-effective treatment plan.
Specific Treatment Programs
MEDICATION DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM:Interdisciplinary pain management services combined with a medically supervised program to detoxify patients who may be having difficulty with daily life activities, who are dependent on opioid (narcotic) or other medications and who are motivated to eliminate or reduce drug use. FMG offers individualized inpatient and outpatient services to achieve medication optimization.
FRP PRIMARY: A full-time 2 week introductory program to introduce the patient to the concepts of functional restoration. Medical, psychological, and physical rehabilitation efforts focus on medication management, and physical restorative and psychological services. Graduation to the FRP Advanced Program is recommended based on evidence of goal achievement, functional improvement, and motivation.
FRP ADVANCED: A full-time 2 – 4 week program for graduates of the Primary FRP who have shown a commitment to functional improvement. While psychological and medical components continue, the emphasis shifts to more intense physical conditioning and back-to-work efforts. Progress and goals are evaluated on a weekly basis to determine continued participation in the program.
FRP PART-TIME: FRP services for patients who can be managed effectively with a part time, yet well coordinated, functional restoration program to stay at work (SAW) or return to work (RTW).
AFTERCARE FRP: Individualized services to help graduates maintain their functional improvements gained in the FRP, avoid psychological regression, prevent relapse, and transition back to everyday life and work. The AfterCare program may include telephonic weekly follow-up, scheduled face-to-face appointments, and a two hour weekly psychological and physical group session.
