Dr. Steven Feinberg is a Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME).
Dr. Feinberg is a past president (1996) of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. He served as a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS) and served as Year 2001 President. In 2006, he received the Silver Scalpel Award from CSIMS.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Chronic Pain Association (www.theacpa.org) .
Dr. Feinberg is a Stanford University School of Medicine Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Departments of Anesthesia/Pain Management. In 2006, he received the Stanford Pain Management Center Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Feinberg received the 1998 Professional of the year Award from the California Governor's Committee on Employment of the Disabled.
He is the recipient of the 1999 American Academy of Pain Medicine Founders Award.
He also serves as the Medical Director for Cedaron AMA Guides Software.
He served on the Panel and as Associate Editor of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) Chronic Pain Guidelines 2008 update, served as a consultant to the ACOEM Low Back Chapter update in 2007 and separately also serves as a consultant to the Official Disability Guidelines (ODG).
Dr. Feinberg has special interest and expertise as an IME, Agreed Medical Evaluator (AME), Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), in Functional Restoration Pain Management, and in AMA Guides Impairment Rating.
Dr. M. Kale Wedemeyer is a Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is Board Certified in Pain Management.
Dr. Wedemeyer is a graduate of the Stanford PMR Residency and the Stanford Pain Fellowship. He served for one year as a full time attending physician at the Stanford Pain Center and practices one day a week at Stanford.
In 2008, Dr. Wedemeyer received the Stanford Pain Management Center Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Wedemeyer does public speaking and has special involvement in the Charlie Wedemeyer Family Outreach (www.cwfo.org) which is dedicated to ALS patients and their families in helping them deal with this devastating illness.
Dr. Wedemeyer has special interest as a treating physician in functional restoration early intervention for delayed recovery cases and also serves as an IME, Agreed Medical Evaluator (AME), Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), and in AMA Guides Impairment Rating.
Dr. Maureen Miner is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and Subspecialty Board Certified in Pain Medicine (American Board of Anesthesiology/American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) and in Spinal Cord Medicine (American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). Dr. Miner is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the State of California.
She is Immediate Past President of the California Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and continues to serve on the Board. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery since 2005. She is an active member of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) and International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS).
Dr. Miner is the Medical Director for Learning Services Supported Living for traumatic brain injury, and the Rehabilitation Director for Care Meridian Subacute Rehabilitation Facility. She is a member of the California Brain Injury Association (CalBIA).
Dr. Miner serves the community as a Physiatrist in actively treating patients, working as a Qualified Medical Evaluator, performing as as an Agreed Medical Evaluator, performing Independent Medical Examinations for third party cases, and doing Utilization Review for Workers’ Compensation in the state of California.
Dr. Miner has special interest and expertise in catastrophic rehabilitation to include spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and chronic pain.
Dr. Nicole Chitnis is Board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
She was on the faculty at University of Washington for 3 years during which focus of her career was on Pain Management, Sports Medicine, EMG and research in Neurological Diseases.
She was in private practice in Seattle area for 18 years. During this period she obtained further training in Sports Medicine, Spine Care and Pain Management. She was a Co-Director of a Spine Clinic for several years. During this period, she provided comprehensive care to several professional athletes in the area, helping them with their injuries and also supporting their peak performance. She has developed a special interest in prevention, wellness and peak performance.
Dr. Chitnis has also studied various alternative medical techniques such as acupuncture and cranio-sacral therapy and integrates them with her traditional medical skills for helping her patients with chronic pain.
Dr. Chitnis has now been practicing medicine in the bay area for the last 6 years. She is also a California Qualified Medical Evaluator and performs as an Agreed Medical Evaluator.
Dr. Heather King earned a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco in 2008. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Chronic Pain Management Department at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. Heather’s clinical training has largely been focused on the complex interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors that impact patients with chronic pain. She has had the opportunity to receive training in the field of chronic pain from the Jesse Brown VA Hospital in Chicago as well as the VA hospital in San Francisco. Prior to graduate school, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Management from Northern Michigan University. After earning her BA, Heather worked in the field of Health, as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, nutritional consultant, Director of Health and Fitness, and owner of a corporate wellness consulting company. She had the opportunity to teach people about health, wellness, and fitness. Working with clients on their physical health is what sparked her interest in studying the impact psychological factors have on motivation and change. This unique combination of training has served her well in working with patients with chronic pain.
In 2009 she joined the FMG team as the Director of Psychology where she, with the team, developed the psychological and wellness portion of the functional restoration program. Dr. King has a particular interest in pain management and quality of life.
Dr. King's personal interests include activities that help her create balance in her life. She tries to stay active with regular work outs and enjoys eating a healthy. Her other interests include making jewelry, hiking or walking outdoors, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
Dr. Rachel Feinberg has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She grew up in Palo Alto and then moved to New York for her undergraduate work. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Brain and Cognitive Science from the University of Rochester in 1998. Rachel then traveled back to California where she earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from USC in 2001. Her professional experience includes Staff Physical Therapist for Stanford HealthSouth, Lead Physical Therapist for the WORCenter in San Jose and Assistant Director of FRP/Director of Physical Therapy at the Bay Area Pain & Wellness Center.
Rachel has enjoyed developing the role of physical therapy in the field of chronic pain. She has contributed several papers to medical journals on subjects that include physical therapy approaches to pain, hand injuries, thoracic outlet syndrome, rehabilitation therapy, complex regional pain syndrome and cumulative trauma disorder. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
